jerry and bobo

because i am used to being on my feet all day and now have largely a desk job, i did two things:  ask for a standing desk and use my 30-minute lunch to walk.

and because i tend to walk at more or less the same time each day, i started to notice that other people have routines, too.

after seeing him and his dog several times in a row, i stopped to talk to the man from the retirement community.  i introduced myself, but him being hard of hearing thought i said "winona, like the singer" i tried to correct him, but winona it is.

it was a small thing to stop and say hello.  but to him, being lonely in his days, i imagine--except for his dog's company--it was a huge deal to him that i took the time.  (i can only hope someone stops to talk with when i'm considered elderly!)

i wonder how an otherwise little thing in your day could make a huge impact on someone else's?
