shimmer

this post brought to you by a very ordinary day brightened by extraordinary timing...

...am currently reading the work of 13th century julian of norwich, as translated by mirabai starr, about her human thoughts and experiences of divine love.

reflecting on these thoughts, today when i was walking to the mailbox (which in the country is a quarter mile or so) i turned in 360 degrees and said out loud, "Love, you really do shimmer in and through all things!"

exactly at that moment, a full rainbow appeared, lasting only 90 seconds or so.  could it have been coincidence?  of course, but regardless, it was very hope-infusing.

it was as though i got the teeniest glimpse into the heart of Love:  completely un-anxious about the things that get us down while also caring deeply about the tiniest details of our lives.
