let your heart go wild
(the following is an excerpt of my friend anne's new poem. she will be submitting and publishing the entirety, so i'll keep you posted when the full piece is released.)
Let Your Heart Go Wild
Step away
from
your heart.
Let it rest
a season, a year,
or more.
As long
as it
takes.
Let your heart soil go
to seed.
Let the brambles return.
Let native life flourish.
Do not take a compass.
Do not draw a map.
Forget
all
you thought you knew.
Get lost
and discover
yourself
for the first time.
