bloom loop

may is my favorite nature month (followed closely by september).  everything is so lush and fresh.  temperatures warm for being outside and for planting the garden.  

i love just plopping myself down in the middle of the green and getting really still and quiet to see how much i notice of creatures and plant life.

i've taken to memorizing the order of flowers here in the northwest, our very own bloom loop.  for the major ones, and depending on weather, it goes something like this:

march:  daffodils

april:  tulips

may: lilacs, peonies, irises

late june & july:  lavender

august-september:  dahlia
