the dark vineyard

i'm not a big fan of halloween, but i love the harvest season that comes just before canadian thanksgiving.

and i found the perfect mystery to read at this time of year: "the dark vineyard:  a mystery of the french countryside" by martin walker.

should be just-right-spooky on the heels of everyone bringing in the grape harvest just before the first rains came.  

and what an amazing harvest!  we were frightened it would be dismal because of the frost that damaged first buds, but the secondary buds came through with flying colors and a bumper crop.

there will be no shortage of wine in this valley, my friends!

now for some tea and that mystery...
