in every season
i got what i was wishing for: a white day-after christmas and an excuse to rest!
which made me wonder why we need an excuse at all? in a society ever-increasing in productivity (even and especially in '20 and '21) must we always have something to show for ourselves? this is predominantly, i think, a western mindset that we are valuable if we are buying, selling, or busy.
i got asked alot, "are you ready for christmas?" and this year i replied, "oh yes, i've exercised, calmed my mind + body and been eating really healthy food." it was fun to answer in this way of being because i knew the question was about having everything crossed off our list in a frenzied rush of self-imposed stresss that i wanted nothing to do with.
the danes call it hygge, the canadians keep cosy, and all of nature knows that to everything there is a season.
