art in the vineyard

the fifth art in the vineyard was so lovely and gentle this time around.  each has had it's own tenor and personality depending on the group and this one was just truly sweet, quality over quantity, and calm.

realizing that more information is not necessarily what we all need right now, i went light on the academics in favor of some simple techniques and examples.

folks were appreciative of the simplicity:  a good meal, a bag of beautiful supplies, and time outside (the weather forecast had been for thunderstorms and what we had instead was a beautifully sunny day with large, dramatic white cumulous clouds drifting over the vineyard and koi pond. it doesn't get much better than that!)

it's more important to me that people feel confident in their own creative flow than walking away with the same end product, plus it's fun to watch each individual produce work unique to their mood and moment.  some will paint from real life, others from imagination, sometimes a bit of both.

and i enjoyed getting to spend time with each person in a way that wasn't always possible with large groups.  it was less of an "event" and more of an "ahh..."
