coptic bookbinding

my brain lights up when i learn something new!  this week it was the art of coptic bookbinding.  these stitches allow for each folio to lay flat and create a lovely pattern on the outside of the book.

not only that, but i learned it at a lovely farm and studio with a dear friend punctuated by meaningful conversation, delightful food, and shared silence.

pretty much a perfect day.
