nature's palette
when i first saw this book, i left it on the shelf. it's gorgeous and equally costs somewhat more than your average tome.
but i couldn't stop thinking about it for well over three weeks and so, when i went back to the bookstore, i told myself if this single copy was still on the shelf, i would splurge.
it was and i did.
how priceless is this treasure-trove, however? with fold-out charts influenced as far back as the early 1800's and colors arranged literally by animal, mineral, and vegetable, it is going to be a staple of my art world going forward.
i mean, there alone are so many whites! eggshell, bone, milk, fog, crystal...the list goes on.
have always thought a good kid's book would be, "water isn't blue, grass isn't green" in regards to paying attention; seeing what is really there.
now, for each pigment, there are so many more to list, as evidenced in nature. i can't wait to observe, learn, and practice from the natural world!
