simple things
today i overheard a very simple but refreshing exchange at the grocery store where a woman offered to run and grab something for the person in front of her in line.
it reminded me of the courtesies of nature: how geese take turns leading the aerodynamic "V", for example.
and the built-in charity of the monstera plant: the closer the leaves are to the sun, the more holes they have in them to share light with the lower leaves.
brilliant!
recently i saw an ad for the outdoors depicting a family in the forest looking up in wonder. it read, "make nature part of your story".
sounds good, right?
it's a good start. but the more i notice and love the wild things, i'd prefer to flip it around to read, "make your story part of nature."
we're guests here and can learn a lot from watching and learning from the natural world. the simplest answers, as well as gestures, are probably true.
