turning (II)

remind me again,

how to stay human?

how what we need

often comes disguised

as want 

a gnawing

fullness in the midst

of a hunger we forgot

we had

remind me again,

how to hold?

all that i've been given

in such a way as to

turn and 

pass it on

that to be invested in 

means to invest

remind me again,

how thin the veil?

and how thick the

air with ancestors

who will tell us

if we listen

how not only

to remain alive

but how to 

give back

like everything 

eventually does

the soil

the forest floor

remind me

again
