that spidey sense

you know that phrase, "a spidey sense" as in a not great feeling about something?  well, i had it but in the best way!

i'm waiting in line for a coffee and overhear the barista explaining her tattoos to the guests in front of me.  she has a spider tatoo on her hand that wraps up and around her forearm.  now, i'm usually scared/not a big fan of spiders, but this art is absolutely gorgeous.

what is even more gorgeous to me is how she is speaking about nature, with a sense of reverence and awe.

as i overhear the story, what inspired her tattoo was that she had been out in her garden crying over several overwhelming losses in her life when she looked up and around after a particular stormy day in her yard and all the spider webs had been destroyed by the weather.  but there the spiders were, just getting right back to spinning their intricate webs.

"look at the spiders, just carrying on," she beamed, "if they can do that, well, there's nothing i can't overcome or rebuild.  time to stop crying and carry on.  nature, you gotta love her!"

what in nature has inspired you lately?
