books + beauty

lately, life's teeter-totter has weighted more to the side of living life than of writing about it.  which i find ultimately good, in that there will be plenty of interesting fodder on which to muse and ponder.  mother nature is kind in this regard as i learn to live into the seasons, lean into the curves.

very much looking forward to the cozy days, to the longer nights and rain and time to pull in and read an entire novel in one sitting, refill the tea kettle, and watch interesting films.

as i write, my table is a veritable cornucopia of delight:  heirloom tomatoes in hues to match the dahlias, cosmos, and sunflowers.  delicata squash, honey crisp apples, a candle.

and a book pile of promise:  the illuminator by brenda rickman vantrease (a loan) historical fiction about the artists that decorated illuminated manuscripts, and art and faith:  a theology of making by makoto fujimura (a gift--in hardcover!)

what are you looking forward to about autumn?
