tiny seed
it's very exciting to share with you that i've just had a poem accepted for publication for the first time at my ripe old age of 48!
(by "publish" i mean officially, though i consider publishing to be any act of expression that goes out to communicate to others. so in that sense i've been published many times if you count blogging, letter writing, poetry walls, readings, newsletters, etc.)
i knew the concept of the shyness of the crown (see last month's blog entry of this title) was supposed to be a poem the moment i learned about it. it was also on spontaneous inspiration that i sent it to tiny seed literary journal. and they accepted!
it will be featured in their october blog and printed in their "plant your words" anthology.
the reason i'm so excited is because what the trees taught me as a beautiful metaphor for life gets to be shared with nature, photography, and word lovers all over the world!
it also encourages me to keep writing and not to give up sharing the gift of words because you never know when they will find the right audience.
