the paris seamstress
at first chapter i couldn't fall into a cadence with natasha lester's writing style. but i've never usually regretted giving a book a second chance. it is, like most of my favorite genre, world war 2 historical fiction and is of the style that bounces back between then and present day.
by last night i definitely stayed up too late reading, hooked on the drama unfolding between the time periods.
the subtitle from the cover? "a french seamstress. a british spy. an american heiress. one destiny that begins in war-torn france."
i also really enjoyed "whispers of war" by julia kelly, but i was fairly sure i would fall right in with her writing style because of already finishing her "the last garden in england" in one sitting.
oooh always need book recs! will check these out <3
ReplyDeletei always seem to gravitate to WW2 historical fiction. perhaps i should branch out...
