time to read
i have time to read again!
just happily enjoyed "the book woman of troublesome creek" by kim michele richardson about the pack mule librarians of the kentucky hills. if you like reading about these amazing women circa the roosevelt plan for literacy, you may also like "giver of stars" by jojo moyes.
my sabbath reading continues to be the gospel of john (i try to read other books of the bible, honestly i do, but i can't get away from this one) and "wild mercy: living the fierce and tender wisdom of the women mystics" by mirabai starr (who had the distinct privilege of translating julian of norwich's writings).
at the magazine level i enjoyed the latest "cherry bombe" dedicated to julia child with an enlightening article about edna lewis' southern seasonal cooking and biscuits i can't wait to make.
what pages are on your nightstand or coffee table these days?
