women who walk

really enjoying this book right now.

not only is andrews' writing ambulatory, but the way she highlights the journal entries of women walkers throughout history is woven with skill.

i, like the women's stories here, find that i do some of my best thinking while putting one foot in front of the other.  it's wonderful to share a ramble with a friend, conversation flowing as easily as miles covered.  or, solo, composing a poem that seems to form more effortlessly than if my legs were still.

from dorothy wordsworth to cheryl strayed, the insights in this collection make me want to, well, walk!
