all things floral
for the third art in the cellar of the year, i led the group in all things floral! for one, this time of year calls for flowers and two, it's almost valentine's day.
a wonderful array of couples, mother-daughters, families, and girlfriends showed up to paint in the cellar, warmed by party lights, heat lamps, and the joy of laughter.
my style is to bring a wide variety of inspiration & examples as well as demonstrating technique while trusting each individual to set their own intention for creation.
i love that we have as many different paintings as people and are not all doing the same thing. for more about group painting, see the "gather to make" tab here on my website. and for further inspiration of your own i recommend: "cut flower garden" by erin benzakein with julie chai (photogaphy by michelle m. waite), and "painting the sacred within" by faith evans-still and mati rose mcdonough.
i am also very inspired by getting to hang the floral photography of fretta cravens who is an amazing person and artist whose work is gaining national and international attention.
what's your favorite flower and why?
