paris 1900's and beyond
paris 1900's is the current exhibit at the portland art museum and i loved seeing the city of light from so many turn of the century angles.
i also loved the motto "fluctuat nec mergitur" latin for "she is tossed by the waves but does not sink".
a recent article in "breathe" magazine encouraged museum goers to enjoy and also look beyond the current exhibit to some works that are always there.
i took the opportunity to revisit a favorite of sun on a sea of waves. and i sat for 10-20 minutes in front of two new to me pieces to see what they had to say. i highly recommend this way of going to your local museum!
