tributary

"the same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures." --rabindranath tagore

this morning's webs
caught by slanting sun
moss backlit in
newly-spring to the
sound of many
waters

footfalls softly compelled
forge a path to river's edge
where i perch beyond words
my heart both the current
and the stone, ever-moving, standing
still

such canopy of firs will soon carry
nature's evensong--such breeze unbridled!
soul and window flung wide at the
confluence of dreaming and dawn
to catch her tune and wake myself with
singing
