snapshots, part le deux
i can keep taking a mental snapshot of something i find good, true, and beautiful of course, and the rhythm of doing it intentionally from december 1st advent to january 6th epiphany is complete:
16) the joy lines on the face of an 89-year old who lost everything in bavaria during the war
17) a small girl with long blonde curls twirling circles with her puppy
18) a flock of birds turning and diving together, wings shimmering in the sun
19) first bloom on a christmas cactus
20) oak trees alive with birdsong
21) trash shaped in perfect hearts
22) reading a concept and having it show up in a movie the same day
23) snuggling with dogs
24) stretching out the season with decor and friends, unrushed and expansive
25) deep and rich, lovely silence
26) long sleeps
27) bringing the outside in, greenery & boughs
28) simmering warm spices on the stove
29) sun on the south side of tree moss
30) green of winter wheat fields
31) feeling heard and giving others the same gift
1) time to reflect on the past, dream forward, and be present
2) learning the cashier's name means "heaven and sea" in filipino, sharing about her culture
3) trying a new breakfast place and ordering pancakes with cardamom
4) open-ended hours upon hours days with dear friends
5) cleaning out closets, replacing a few new items
6) celebrating epiphany with fresh authentic italian food
