gifts
so very many gifts present themselves during ordinary days.
just this week i've been counting and there's almost too many to write!
-coming home to a fresh loaf of bread on my steps baked with love by a friend's daughter
-magnolia, cherry, and plum trees bourgeoning into bloom
-my first 3rd cousin Atticus being born. the fact that, were she still alive, my cousin Becky would have been a grandmother for the first time. but guess what their nurse's name was? Becky, of course!
-hiking with my dear Czech friend, seeing tulips back-lit by morning sunshine, nourishing food and conversation
-getting to visit a church again after 5 years and finding an even sweeter spirit of love than before
-being offered opportunities to write that can hopefully change lives, starting to see some fruit and treasures come from pruning and dark times
-a 1-800 customer service call on my lunchbreak to reschedule a routine appointment that turned into spontaneous connections and will result in a visit from an art-loving mother and son that live in Louisiana!
-eggs (what can i say, i feel like the wealthiest woman in the world right now)
what gifts, tangible or otherwise, have you noticed and received lately?
