i drive the longer way home

once neighbors' holiday

lights are 

up

out here the clearness

finds friends huddled around

firepits for meteor showers

inhaling stardust through their 

eyes

fence and rooftop cheer

coax me out from under a 

deep blanket of attended sorrow

one small blinking light at a 

time

it's my turn to add bulbs

that is to say, i've passed
