book of hearts

as i learn more about *bookbinding, imagine my delight that there are examples of innovative and unusual bookbinding shapes, such as heart-shaped books!

the Chansonnier Cordiforme is a late fifteenth-century French music book that is in the shape of a heart, with the spine edge forming one of the long sides of the heart. 

another French manuscript is teardrop-shaped, so that when it is opened, the two halves form a heart shape.
