5 points i want to live by
i came across this clipping in my journal and think it may have been from the george fox journal, center for peace studies and perhaps (if memory serves) authored by ron mock.
these 5 points really made an impact on me and align with how i'd like to frame my mental curiosity particularly as i age.
1) be humble: we clearly don't know it all, no matter how right we think we are
2) don't assume anything: test the evidence first then be open minded to other ideas
3) be free: embrace skepticism and become a freethinker, no matter what others say
4) don't fear ridicule: you have the right to question facts and theories that influence your own opinions
5) regain your childlike inquisitive mind: view the world again through the eyes of wonder
i love these! and i appreciate the use of childlike (which is different from childish) we can mature and grow and still continue in the act of becoming like little children in all the best ways.
which of these points stand out to you and why?
