astonished

on the eve

i scatter seed

and all my 

winged friends, they

come, find food 

and feast 

when i step out 

on christmas 

morning they 

take to flight

a fancy of 

brown, grey

yellow, flashes of 

blue 

and with them

my astonished

heart
